Terms of Service

These terms apply to using SpokPass, on the website and in the mobile apps. They are written to be read, not to put you off reading them.

What we provide

A password vault, encrypted on your device and synchronised between your devices, with a password generator, folders, organisations and an access log. What you keep in it is your business: we keep the servers running and do not look inside, because we cannot.

Your account and master password

• You are responsible for keeping your master password and your recovery kit. We do not have them and cannot restore them.
• If you lose both, the items in your vault are lost for good. That is not a disclaimer, it follows directly from the fact that we cannot read anyone's vault.
• An account belongs to one person. The Family and Team plans exist for several people.
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

Subscriptions, payment and renewal

• A subscription is bought on spokpass.ro, through Stripe, or inside the iPhone app, through the App Store. Price, duration and currency are shown before payment; in the app they are the ones the App Store displays.
• Subscriptions renew automatically, and payment is taken at the start of each period until you turn renewal off.
• Bought through the App Store: renewal is charged to your Apple account within the last 24 hours of the period, unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Turn it off in Settings → your Apple account → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
• Bought on the website: turn renewal off from the subscription page.
• Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, under its own rules. For website payments, write to us.

Free trial

A trial turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited the moment you buy a subscription.

When a subscription ends

Your vault stays readable and exportable; only new saves stop. That is a choice, not an oversight: a password manager that holds your passwords hostage over one unpaid invoice is a trap, not a product.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service for unlawful purposes, and do not attempt to break it, overload it, or work around its technical limits. We may suspend an account that does, with notice — unless notice would harm others.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the service running without interruption, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months and does not cover indirect losses. Nothing here removes the rights consumer law gives you.

Changes to these terms

If we change anything material, we will email you at least 30 days beforehand. If you disagree, you may close your account and export your data.

Governing law

Romanian law applies. As a consumer you may also turn to the Romanian consumer authority (ANPC) or the European online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
